When I met Helen and Matt, I knew that I had found a special couple. Our first encounter was at a dainty coffee store in the city of Adelaide, South Australia, and as soon as they started so delve into their wedding plans, I became uncontrollably excited!
Helen was from Glasgow and Matt was born in the US. They had fallen in love in Australia whilst Matt was touring bases with the US Air Force. As a captain of the Air Force, he was naturally dressed as sharp as a tack on their big day, much to the delight of a large number of swooning bystanders and onlookers.
The couple prepared for their day at their gorgeous Victorian historic property. The look of excitement from both Helen and Matt as they got dressed with their bridal parties was priceless. During preparation, one of Matt's family members approached me to discuss the particulars of the day. I remember him saying how happy and at ease everyone seemed. Nobody was rushed off their feet, frantically trying to organise any important and forgotten part of the day. It was lovely to see the day unravel smoothly and stress free!
Before the ceremony, I had the pleasure of following Helen and her father through the gardens, before we arrived to the main event. Helen's Dad was calm, collected, and a great help throughout the wedding. Before Helen walked down the aisle, he offered a few words of advice and encouragement, then after a big hug and a deep breath, they were on their way down the aisle!
Helen and Matt's heart warming ceremony took place in the beautiful Adelaide Botanical Gardens, situated in the heart of Adelaide's CBD. The weather was perfect, the sun shone brightly in the sky, accompanied by an array of light and fluffy clouds. Despite the wedding day falling in Winter, the gardens boasted a large order of brightly coloured and blooming flowers and foliage.
Helen's wedding ring was completely gorgeous, featuring a stunning set of glistening diamonds. Her ring was accompanied by an important family heirloom, an elegant 19th century golden bracelet featuring beautiful turquoise gemstones,
After the ceremony, Helen, Matt and I had a couple hours to explore the gardens and take some portraits, before heading to the reception for a well deserved meal. The grounds at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens are breathtaking. In the centre of the gardens, with plenty of breathtaking backdrops for taking memorable family portraits,
I am very grateful to have been chosen to document Helen and Matt's beautiful wedding. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day!
